Things I Don't Like

Featured Replies

Three more emails this morning from Mr Wong, heralding the whereabouts of the duvet cover as it travelled 30 miles or so down the A31, which duly arrived at 11.12am.  Followed by another email, enquiring whether or not it met my duvet cover needs, and in the future if I have need for more duvet covers (or indeed bed linen in general), to consider him again

I don't like running out of 50mm screws, and only having 30mm (too short) and 100mm (way too long) to hand.  I can see Brandy and I shall be visiting Screwfix tomorrow, after her morning stroll.

I don't like traffic and having a good old moan to myself about stupid road closures.... Only to find out the road was closed because some poor cyclist was killed at 3am.... :O

What he was doing out on a bike at 3am I dunno, but sad nonetheless..

I don't like looking at the large patch of gravel at the side of the house and putting off digging it up to make room for my shed base(12ft x 10ft) to find out that underneath said gravel is..... Concrete.  Suppose that's the advantage of having a dog that likes to dig & tear around the garden

I don't like going to Screwfix for a solitary inlet flow valve for my leaky loo, only to find that the only way I could have my £13 change from a £20 note was entirely in 20ps.

They had no £10s. no £2, no £1 or 50p's.  Apparently no-one usually pays with cash on a Saturday, weekdays yes: but not weekend buyers

It then took me a good 10 minutes, half an hour later at Tescos, to feed the 20ps, one by one, into the scan as you go till:sad:

I also don't like being bitten by something on my left thigh, it looks like a Blandford fly bite only it's the wrong time of the year for them.  It look like I have an egg concealed beneath my skin and it's surprisingly painful:sad: To the point of making leg movement awkward:ohmy:

Brandy's never shown an interest in digging.  We have squirrels for that, who it seems, forget where they buried their nuts and dig holes all over the place, trying to find them.

Which reminds me, here's as good as any, @Ryan_Tango why is there a squirrel in your Focus mods to do list?

Didn't know anyone used cash in shops these days!  Debit card is just so much easier...

I usually use a debit card but I had some spare cash to use up.

I've just discovered, if you tick the "record series" box on iplayer, it not only downloads the current series (which you wanted) but also downloads all the available unwatched series (which you didn't necessarily want).:ohmy:

It's a pity there isn't a way of selecting seasons of series: rather than all or nothing, automatically.

My ex found a load of copper coins in her car once - £1-and something...she also wanted a bottle of Pepsi in Asda, but only had a £20 note and no card (I didn't have my wallet on me).  So I stood and fed in 99 pennies into the self service machine :D

Wasn't long after that they fitted the slots over the coin dumps :(

Hahhaa I've always wondered that at first glance I've always thought it was a squirrel, but taking a look yeah, you can see it's a rabbit. 😋 Saw the post in my gmail inbox this morning, I knew exactly what the subject was 😂 had to come over and take a look!😂😋

I still use cash quite a lot.

I actually control myself by rarely having any cash. If I need something that costs £15, then the only way to get that is to withdraw £20 (most cash machines don't throw out 5's), so that means I get my purchase, but then I have £5 left which I won't put away, it'll just linger in my wallet until I flitter it away on something I don't need... whereas if something costs £15 and I use my card then that's the 15 gone, no more, no less....

It's a way of money saving for me... especially when you consider change never really comes in note form, so you end up with £8 - 9 in coins after a days cash spending and that's very easy to spend just to get rid of the inconvenience of having a load of coins...

It's surprising how many shops don't have card readers, I try where possible to go to local shops and the deli/bakery doesn't have a card machine, the mill doesn't, the butcher has only just got one, pffft where else.  Oh yea numerous shows I've been to.  Which fair enough the shows but carrying cash nowadays is just a pain in the backside

Can't think of the last shop I went that didn't have a reader tbh!  I don't use small shops though admittedly, I like the convenience of buying everything in the same place lol.

Last time I used cash would've been entry at a car show last summer.  I always keep a tenner in my wallet just in case though...

i tend to keep mine in a wallet. do you need the services of a money launderer.

I don't like the local Tesco Metro...  Honestly, what's the point?  I walked down (15 mins walk) for 3 fairly standard items and they only had one of the three!

Annoyingly I live almost equidistant between a Metro and an Extra, with the Extra being another 5 mins away.  So ended up walking there instead...shoulda done that in the first place!

I also don't like that summer decided to erupt during that time, so my expectedly cold and windy walk turned into a sweaty, blinding one whilst being attacked by slightly dazed bee's...

Not sure where spring was, seem to have gone from winter into summer!

I don't like that my adaptive headlights have started aiming left at random times when driving straight.

😤

I also don't like that i've torn a muscle in my shoulder hoiking Willow over a high fence. 😯

No lifting for a couple of weeks and enough tablets to supply Boots. 😕

I don't like adverts in Family Guy...  Want BBC3 back!  First world problems...

I don't like the fact that there are no jobs in my area, but if I moved to a small town in Canada there are over 10 vacancies I could apply for on the first few pages of Indeed.  Yep, the UK is going to hell in a hand-basket for sure.

Can't wait to escape.

That doesn't sound good.  My shoulder has been pain free since the last time it gave me absolute agony for a couple of weeks.  Never did find out what was actually wrong with it.

It's not nice, the muscle and corresponding ligament keeps the humerus correctly aligned into the rotator cup of the scapula.

It makes raising my arm over shoulder height rather sore.

Lifting a wriggling 25kg dog over your head isn't as easy as you'd think.

I wouldn't imagine that to be easy at all...  Rather you than me!

Not the worst injury I've sustained on duty but anything that affects my effectiveness is annoying.

Dogs are raring to go but I'm letting the team down.

Guessing you weren't too 'humerus' when it happened XD
