Things I Don't Like

Featured Replies

Yep, I was worried about pulling panels in mine (albeit older than yours but still not rattly which surprised me coming from rattly French cars lol)...didn't need to remove any in the end, just the door seal, managed to poke it behind the headliner and a pillar down to the fusebox. I refitted it (after a year out) after an unbelievable near miss BUT haven't anything so perilous since to upload. :( If I uploaded all the daft annoyances it'd take hours every day haha.

As much as it's a bit 'boring' it's probably a good thing to have nothing perilous...

Yeah definitely lol! Just annoying that I didn't have it in at the time.

I was in the outside lane at a constant 70 on cruise, coming up against 2 cars in the fast lane considerably slower, people often do that on that particular road to turn right at the roundabout in another mile or so (why they don't wait until closer I don't know!) - I didn't speed up so I don't believe I was in the wrong (Mark may tell me otherwise lol). As I came up against the rear car it suddenly pulled into my lane to undertake the other car, I slammed on the horn as I saw the drift across but they didn't take any notice and/or didn't have a fast enough car to get out of the way, guess I must've been in their blind spot, or they simply didn't look, but I had to slam on the brakes and dive into the half-width hard shoulder to avoid them!! Closest near miss I've ever had and it really 'pooped' me up, hence the immediate dash cam refitting after lol.

Of course I became totally enraged, put my boot down, caught up and followed them at 'some mph' for a few more miles with definitely not enough braking distance between us. I don't even know why, can't think of anything they could've done to 'apologise' for the stupid manoeuvre or what I'd have done if they stopped. Yet another split second decision I regretted immediately... :ermm:

Ha ha ha ! :) :) :)

Now this video i would loved to have seen

I've just been down the end of drive to collect the dog water bowl I put out, for passing local dogs.

There's a Citroen Saxo going round and round the block, clearly lost, the road numbering is odd if you're not local. However, Mr Saxo doesn't have any lighting on whatsoever, not even side lights! :o :o

I keep seeing cyclists riding home in the evening with no lights on and dark non reflective clothing, they clearly have a death wish.

Problem with that sort of thing is that if you pull out on them, all the crowds get all uppity about how 'drivers never look for cyclists', 'drivers are the problem not cyclists' etcetera...

If you go play on the effing train tracks and get squashed by a train you don't see everyone up in arms about train drivers not paying attention!

Like Clive, I wired my dashcam this way, tapped into the power source, and then up behind the door seal, though I tucked it in to the A pillar without unclipping it, and run it across the wiundscreen (tucked into the headlining).

Nice and easy, mess free, no damage,

I've noticed that the darker coloured car owners are reluctant to put their lights on during these dark Winter days Crazy really !.

Not the drivers but the train companies and level crossings are usually at fault apparently...:rolleyes:

The flip-side of it being so warm today, is that the rain has returned :(

Scuppering any chance of the lawn drying out enough to mow it, or getting this seasons potatoes out the ground, at the weekend :(

We've got a daily one, every evening at around 11:30pm.

He bombs down the hill, behind me, dressed in death wish dark clothes, no illumination, nothing reflective about him, and doesn't stop at the mandatory stop at the cross roads; straight across, rarely looking.

I seem to be one few with a black car that illuminates on Broadstone relief road.

Although the other black car owners might point out, I've always got mine set on auto, so the Focus makes it's own lighting decisions: rather than me

I very much doubt whether he's insured either, as cyclists must be second only to pedestrians in terms of vulnerability, you'd think they'd value their life more than than they evidently seem to

I've been tempted to wind my window down and shout at them to put some lights on, or get off and walk, but I'm bothered I might startle the oblivious idiots and cause them to fall off and damage my car :P

I've been tempted to wind my window down . . .

Wind ? ? :(

That's for French cars . .

Electrically lower my window down . . . please :)

I've come to understand that's not the case, watch youtube videos of cyclists head cams... The majority of them would die just to prove a point that THEY were right.. In many cases they are right, but it's not worth dying for...

I don't like the fact some ignorant cow thought it was acceptable to hold the door open for her teenage son, see me behind him and let it swing straight back into my face... Just a good job she didn't follow me into the next shop tbh.

I also don't like the fact I had a weekly money off voucher for Tesco...in my wallet...at the checkout...and forgot to use it. :( Anyone know if I can take the receipt in with it and redeem it after the event?

Is that one of the Clubcard "today your shopping would have £xx cheaper elsewhere, so here it is back" vouchers? They have about a fortnight to redeem on. I have often forgotten to redeem, and subsequently discover them in my wallet, usually after the day of expiry :(

As you can put Clubcard points on, after the event, with the receipt: I would have thought it possible. Although with points it has to be the same day.

Talking of Tesco, our local one's landscape contractor has replaced the pine needle and grass covered areas below the trees; with spiky shrubs. Thus limiting where Brandy the dog, can have her "pre-waiting for me to shop" ablutions

Nah it's not one of those, they actually don't do those any more, they take it off before you even pay if the shopping was cheaper elsewhere now. :D

This is one of those posted ones, '£4 off if you spend £30 this week'.

Oh didn't realise those didn't exist now, I'd just assumed I wasn't buying anything that cheaper elsewhere :D Bag points have gone too :(

Bag points were quite handy for pushing your point total to next voucher level.

You can only but try with posted voucher, whilst it's connected with your clubcard, it won't be connected directly with today's transaction

Lol, there's still an item threshold, say over 10 items or something, but yeah if you look at the bottom on the receipt it says about the 'Brand Guarantee' and how much you saved...

I never noticed bag points, have only been using a bag for life since the 5p law came in though... I haven't bought a single one yet haha, yes I'm tight. ;)

I will try with the voucher tomorrow, can only ask I suppose!

I don't like Windows 10 taking a crap less than a week after installing... Yep, think I may have made a mistake as Windows 7 never gave me any problems, and 10 has potentially fatally crashed in less than 7 days.

It keeps saying "signing out" and even doing a hard reset won't work...

Finally got it to sign out of my mother's account and now it won't accept my password when it is the same password I have had for 6 months!!

BLEEPING HELL!

Tesco craftily used exactly the same interface as bag points had for the 5p bag fee, loads of people got caught out to start with. :o

I usually take far too many bags for life with me, as you never know what you might mind amongst the discounted leaves and deli items :)

On one occasion when I brought in an appropriate number, in this case two, they were awash with discounted olives and bags of mixed leaves. I ended up with everything loose in my trolley and two tightly packed bags

I don't like my right shoulder started twinging yesterday and this morning I woke up barely able to move my arm. As I sit here it is still in pain and I have very limited movement.

Ibuprofen isn't touching it and I haven't got any alcohol in the house (my usual pain relief).

Might have to buy a bottle of "medicinal" Jack Daniels tomorrow.
