So I got an update on my car  (ST-Line Vignale 155 auto) which I ordered November 21 at the start of July saying a build date of September which was disappointing.

However I’ve since gotten another update with an estimated production date towards the end of this month and an estimated delivery date at the start of September and it’s been allocated a VIN too. Fingers crossed they stick to this timetable or at least close to it but it’s a promising sign.

 

As for all the talk on colours, I tend to go for red but the race red wasn’t really doing it for me so bit the bullet and went for the fantastic red. It looked good on the website and if it’s anything like the darker red on the new 308 or even Corsa I’ve seen recently I’ll be pretty happy

I ordered my car 31st dec 2021 (to get the 3 year 0% deal before it ended). St line vignale 155 auto in magnetic. 
Been told build date end of this month but subject to change. 
I managed to get a 24 hour test drive a couple of weeks ago in the exact spec and colour i ordered (other than manual instead of auto). Great fun to drive and the car looks great! Build quality inside better than i expected too. Will be worth the wait imo. 
 

Out of interest was reading that Fords Germany plant, over 3 shifts can knockout 1400 cars.  To be honest I wasn't sure how many they could do, but I didn't think it was that many.

Probably not that many at the moment due to the parts shortages though.

Hi Sausagman your future ST looking great in that mean colour. Am I correct in it’s only available on ST Focus, Puma and Fiesta? Does yours come with matrix headlights as standard? Just wondering if this, (option on my st line), could be another factor in delays in production?

 I think all of us would agree that 2021 orders should be completed first, before January/February/March orders, it’s the complete lack of consideration and communication, often building hopes up then 2/3 months added wait…. I wonder how many of us are prepared to go through all this angst again for our next motor?!

Hello Shine, all the focus variants look great imo.

Yes, mean green is only available on ST variant however it is a £900 option i think (for focus) 

Yes, the UK version comes standard with the matrix LEDs. I have also added driver assistance plus performance pack as well as BLIS. 

My personal opinion on orders is FIFO. First in, first out. (but this is all obviously parts dependent/related now) 

Quite a few 4.5s with Sync3 for sale in UK now.

I ordered my Focus ST Line Vignale in Race Red with a few bits back in October , and i spoke with my dealer and mine will be gate released on 22nd of this month. My brothers car which is the same but just with parking pack has come out of paint offline.

So finally will be getting our cars in September..............About time...

Just reached 1000 miles in my ST Line Vignale 155 Auto that I took delivery in May. Superb car, really enjoying it so far.

Just thought I’d try my dealer (Gates of Harlow) after seeing your update!  Guess what…. The sales person dealing with my order, placed last October, is on holiday and apparently no one else can check!   Got to say I’m not very happy with their attitude!! 🙄 

Having shared good news last week I have found out today the car mentioned in my previous post (early Nov 2021 order with all driver assistance options) has been delayed on Fords system from 27th July to 29th August (over 4 weeks!) 😔

Very glad a few here with 2021 orders seem to be getting build dates, VINs, gate release etc. but it seems Ford are slipping from their own timeline already with absolutely no reasoning given! Honestly, especially given they are producing cars with Sync 4 I think this is absolutely disgraceful and as you can imagine my friend is very annoyed by this.

Have they actually started SYNC4 equipped car production? My dealer told tha me last week that t it would most likely start in late July or early August and that they are still producing SYNC3 cars. But who knows what's actually happening...

I think this heatwave is across parts of Europe as well as the UK?  Could let them off a few days delay for that, but 4 weeks without explanation seems a bit suspect!

Just emailed my dealer and got this response. 

 

Your vehicle is now showing a production date of 30/08/22.

 

For information, one of our customers who is also waiting build schedules on their Focus contacted Ford and this was their reply:

 

Unfortunately, this unit has not been provided an estimate build date. This is a feasible unit, marked as a priority build and has no holds against it meaning it will be pulled into build when possible. This unit will not be considered for build before the plants summer lockdown which is 29/07/2022 to 29/08/2022.

 

Due to general part shortages and various constrains, units have been delayed and this has lead to the closure of the Focus ordering tables to prevent any further back log in the order bank.

Summer shutdown incoming, completely forgot to factor that in. 

Lol, sounds as if they are just building whatever they like, regardless of order date.,

So my dealer told me before build date in August, was it a lie?

Anyway got an email last week that build date is this month so this make sense as that lockdown approching.

Will update here if/when .

Forgot to mention that my dealer also told me that the factory would close for two weeks only this year to cope with the backlog. But again, who really knows based on what theironhunter said above (in the email response).

OK, that's not a good sign for those who have estimated build date of 08.22, or even for those with 09.22, I hate that Ford's doing this. 

I do know for a fact that ford do factory shutdowns (loads of manufacturing sites do during the summer)

however, i also know that they will bring staff back early or have departments still running whilst others are away. (my dad had 40 years service at Ford Motor Co.) 

Also worth remembering, whilst the plant may shutdown, component manufacturers may not - could help catch up on those pesky chips or other bits.

Yeah, but wasn't the factory closed already for a month or so? Or at least, making only a few cars/day and not running at full capacity?

Yeah man it was, but i think summer factory shutdown is written into contracts etc. 

But tbh, who actually knows what's going on with manufacture?!

A month holiday !?!? I worked in manufacturing, not cars but it never stopped. Xmas day , New Year’s Day …..that was it..

It does happen & i know for a fact it happens at Ford.

I think JLR do it too - lots of others as well.
