I think this heatwave is across parts of Europe as well as the UK?  Could let them off a few days delay for that, but 4 weeks without explanation seems a bit suspect!

This was our thinking. We say it every post but it’s amazing how just a little more communication could go a long way to resolving a lot of these issues/speculation.

Just emailed my dealer and got this response.

Your vehicle is now showing a production date of 30/08/22.

For information, one of our customers who is also waiting build schedules on their Focus contacted Ford and this was their reply:

Unfortunately, this unit has not been provided an estimate build date. This is a feasible unit, marked as a priority build and has no holds against it meaning it will be pulled into build when possible. This unit will not be considered for build before the plants summer lockdown which is 29/07/2022 to 29/08/2022.

Due to general part shortages and various constrains, units have been delayed and this has lead to the closure of the Focus ordering tables to prevent any further back log in the order bank.

Hadn’t really considered a summer shutdown and was (probably foolishly) expecting Ford to forgo this with the aim of clearing the order backlog. Either way there could be many reason for them doing it including contracts, catching up on parts production etc. as mentioned by others. I’m trying to get more information from the people who provided me with the information last week and will let you know if I receive anything.

On a slightly more positive note, despite the delay my friends car this time does have a chassis assigned (I didn’t with the July date) which on my understanding means it’s significantly more likely to get through production on the estimated date. Maybe it was just a few day delay for any number of reasons that pushed it into the shutdown and led to the lengthened one; who knows!

Ford Saarlouis - Betriebsrat: Focus-Bestellstopp sorgt für Spekulationen intern (saarbruecker-zeitung.de) another bad news..Looks like Ford it's doomed...We'll see our cars in 2025 in this rhythm, so disappointed, never ever order a car again in a crisis time like this

Wouldn't say its doomed, you're stoking the fire there.

This simply reads that Ford have only just realised that combustible engines aren't economically viable anymore and need to really take flight on EV designed cars.

Hi all, new to forum. Have a new St-Line estate lease on order direct with dealer. Order placed in January and car is currently with dealer. Was booked for delivery on 9th August to coincide with my current lease ending, but have just received a disappointing update which I though may affect others on here too, so worth sharing:

There is a recall now stopping all deliveries. I've attached what I received about it. It was originally believed to need a software fix as per attachment but dealer now confirms it need a hardware fix, and uncertain on when parts will be sourced. Recall affects Puma, S-Max and Kuga as well, so sounds like a lot of hardware needed which doesn't bode well!

Will leave me carless for an unknown length of time unless I can sort something with my current lease provider. I'm sure it may affect others here too.

Yes as they say the Fiesta on Fords UK site has not been available to buy for a couple of weeks now. And from what I can tell one can also not buy the S-Max and Galaxy models 🙄

From that article, the council chap saying no Focusses until 2023 concerns me. This is literally a lottery.

However, Volvo have just said they see an end to the conductor shortage - but they are Chinese owned.

Volvo=Geely, so that's why.. Ford will not solve the conductor shortage, at least not this year...Really disappointed, at least they should've take only a few orders of Focus to be limited edition, and then halt the production if this was their plan...

Hi guys, im new.  Got a ST in mean green on order, well I say on order, I placed the order with the dealer start of may and was fully aware the order books were closed but thought I would get in there with dealer for when factory orders open again.  Reading the above article its not looking good if they are saying current orders being processed will be 2023.  Dealer took my order and said it would be into next year (feb-March) before I see it, which was fine, but can't see that happening.

I went physically to the dealer and saw that they are receiving every week new Focuses but in those "factory preconfigured" spec that most use for fleets and companies.

Obviously they lack Sync4 and many gadgets and features. These vary based on what components they have (I saw and ST-Line that only the body panels were ST-Line like, the rest was a Connect 😑).

But the reduction of output from 190K to 110K is a big blow to all who had orders from 2021, and especially smaller markets (non-UK/DE).

From gathering the latest info basically in August there will be no production until the 29th, when they will start the lower reduced cadence onwards.

And only after that, based on everyone's config (and parts availability and market size), we might get a change to receive a production date or not...

In conclusion I estimate a delivery date in December, 14 months after I placed the order at this point. Really disappointing.

Just call to my saleswomen😁 and she gave me great news, my st line 155 mhev is already made, out of factory 8 July, estimate to delivery by end of August or first days of September. She told me that Ford is priorytasing the less costly for them as the car have already increase price 3 or 4 time and they have to ensure the price given on the proposal... Maybe people give up on the orders.

When did you order?

Well, 2 possible reasons, and you're really a lucky man:

1) only st line with no digital dash and extras and only sync 4

2) existing order made by the dealer

I placed the order in Feb 2022 and I still don't have any news, TItanium X 125mhev with almost all the extras(no family package, no sunroof, no ergonomic chairs)

Mine is a st line x, digital dash and Sync4, with pack driver and driver plus, exterior pack, alarm, no sunroof, no family because mistearusly isn't avaiable In the Station wagon and no matrix. Here In Portugal i only see 1 vídeo with sync4, dealership only have sync3 on the showroom. A litle strange but no need to lie from their side...

Trust me, this is all now a lottery.

I hope we all win!!

My local ford dealer has a sync 4 in the showroom, what we brits would call a estate but other countries refer to as a 'station wagon'! - its a ST line Vignale in the blue - gorgeous looking car fitted with pbl, but not for sale, showroom use only!!...

Not sure why the dealers have a sync 4 in S T line Vignale and not be able to sell it, it’s not really click bate if we can’t order online at the moment, maybe they should offer it to someone who has an outstanding order but not that spec.

Possibly because it is incomplete and requires additional work/parts before it can be registered. There are many Puma models sitting around all over, and they can't be registered until the telemetry safety call system works. I suspect that other models for example Kuga may also have these issues.

I had the same conversation with said dealers over the focus when i was there to collect my new puma, they said then they didn't want to sell it on because it had arrived for them unexpectedly and they knew they wouldn't get a showroom replacement!...might of supposedly not been fitted with things for the road...but l reckon they were just holding on to the 'goodies' myself!...

It was Stafford Bristol street Ford for those on here who might be interested.....just don't hold me too

it that they still have it now!!....

I have to agree. It really shouldn’t be though and that’s the big problem here. Ford are not building orders fairly and not keeping customers properly informed. At the minute delays are sadly inevitable with all manufacturers and the above problems are where Ford have really lost my future custom.

Hi guys,

I have a question, with all that’s been reported /posted in the past few days how likely is it that my Focus st line Vignale with every option ticked apart from tow bar, ordered late January, will eventually be built?

Am I living in cloud cuckoo land ?

I realise that no one’s got a crystal ball, but I really want some advice as to whether my car order will be fulfilled or cancelled by Ford. I ordered at a great price and it could suit Ford to cancel so they can make more money selling cars at 2023 list prices

what’s your expert opinion/advice please?

I think you will get it bro, Ford are not being as ruthless as say someone like JLR, however who knows when you will get it.

Could be in September 22 or March 23...there is no science to it.

The main issue for me is the complete lack of honesty from Ford.  I knew I had a long wait ahead of me but just can't get any clarity as to how long the wait is going to be.  Ford seem intent on making things worse instead of working to resolve the delays..
