I'm not convinced that's actually what's happening with Ford at the moment.  Just confirming it is 'a thing'.  VW had loads of brand new GTD's stuck in compounds for months last year.  They were just missing one or two modules, as the chips had been prioritised for the lesser emitting vehicles.  It's only been an issue recently because of the reduction in manufacture.  

If it also includes commercials, then Ford will be at a disadvantage with all of the diesel Transits they sell.

Well just been told by my dealer I've been allocated a VIN number. 

Build date of end of August still.

Morning Tom, thanks for the insight. 

Any which way Ford are producing / prioritising vehicle manufacture is rocket science to us consumers. 

Lets just hope we get our vehicles in a respectable time frame. 

Seems like both Dealers & Ford are being very obtuse at present.

But, i spoke to a JLR employee on Saturday, they are cancelling their summer shutdown, offering overtime pay and a substantial bonus if they meet manufacturing targets. 

Hello I am new to this site , Ordered a new Ford Focus st may2021 told get it September we’ll come November had to change spec and colour still waiting for build date . Tried contacting customer services waste of time not really interested. Why won’t ford let customers know the truth what’s going on . My dealer doesn’t know anything more than I do .

Wish my dealer was as helpful with info…. They say they only get told when the order is being delivered…. No info on build dates, VIN numbers etc.   Maybe they just can’t be bothered?? 🙄

Im sure I read somewhere they are reducing it to just a two week break, no idea if that is true or not..

For those in the same boat as me (ordered with dealer when factory order books were closed).  I have just spoken to my dealer and basically they know very little, hoping to hear soon when ordering will reopen, they are clearing existing orders before taking new ones.  Knows nothing relating to the factory summer break or reducing production after.  They have been informed Fiesta ordering will reopen end of August..  But basically Ford are not telling them much in relation to the ongoing issues.

Interesting today the Fiesta has re-appeared on the Ford UK website with a slightly different spec line up. Still says orders closed, but it's back.

It has ST Line and ST Line X. Not ST Line vignale anymore.

Also, a couple more Focus mk 4.5 with sync 4 (ST Line Vignales) have turned up on Autotrader. One in Henley in Arden is a 155ps. Wonder if this is recently built as its only just appeared? I.e. After sync 4 production restart?

It has a sunroof too.

Just saw, looks like a lovely motor. 

That will be sold by the weekend, absolutely no doubt. 

My Ford dealer finally updated it's price list and now we only have Titanium Style, St-line Style and Active Style options. Without spending too much time comparing I was able to see what is missing:

no 155 mhev, no matrix headlights, no sync 4(but there is an option to save money by downgrading to Sync 2.5 😄)

I am waiting to receive a status update on my order this week. Hopefully it won't be possible to be processed as is and they will offer a refund as an option. For sure I would not want any configuration from that price-list...

Just received another update after enquiring yet again!!  Delivery now “promised” for early October!   Oh look! There goes another flying pig! 🐷. 🙄

Ford will never do this, they don't give a damn about their customers, only profit profit profit but they don't do something about this, this company will slowly die in this rhythm. 

I've just visited my dealer (for a warranty issue on my MK 3.5) and the only news I got related to my order and Focus production status is that they have no news... (Ford RO does not want to communicate any info)

The production month keeps also shifting every few weeks. Now it is October instead of November but that means squat if there is no actual date and VIN.

I've been looking at peoples delivery dates on here to gauge how likely it is that my commitment will be met. I know there are a few on here that have taken delivery already.

I'm willing to track this if we all think it would be useful?

I have pasted an example of what I'm thinking of below. I could paste the latest here once a week or so if people are happy for me to just monitor everyone's comments about what their latest commitment dates are etc, and we could use it to watch progress of everyones orders, hopefully through to reasonable delivery dates.

Hopefully it's visible as I pasted it in from a screen grab of Excel, and we'd want it to be viewable on smartphones etc.

If you think it'd be interesting, then please let me know your information for each of the cells below - i.e. when ordered, what the spec and options are (that way we can see if different specs are getting priority) where you are in the world, if you have a VIN, what the dealer has informed you about likely build dates, and when you last had an update. 

Hopefully as we get towards the Autumn, we will see the last column turn green / with a YES in it as time goes along.

I just got an update from my dealer...He continuously say that he still got hopes for sept-oct delivery, which I personally don't believe this...He couldn't access the system because he's on holiday, so yeah, let's see how it'll go...

I will release tomorrow evening to gauge interest.

I think I should send this evey 2 weeks on a weds, as not much changes in 7 days.

Also I will keep all historic tables so we can analyse slippage.
