Hi guys

I don’t know if this is relevant or helps, but I’ve just enquired about a green ST on Autotrader, posing as an interested customer as the ad says ‘in stock’ but further down‘available to order’.

The sales guy was helpful and said it could be delivered in 6 months…..now this would be March next year, when some of us fear our orders may be delivered as worse case scenario. Surely if some have already been waiting we’ll over 6 months already, then our cars could be with us this year?🙏!!

In other words, I could order a ‘ back up’ Focus, now, with delivery by next March!! ( that is if you didn’t have a contract with conditions of losing deposit if you cancelled)

I have seen loads of adverts for the ST "available now" but when you look are factory orders.  I ordered start of May with dealer when the order books were already closed and was given an expected delivery of Feb / March 23.  I seems its just what the dealers tell you, I don't think we will have any real idea until the order books reopen.  I even spoke to one dealer who claimed, even though order books are closed he could still place a new order with factory, I think that's just him trying to get a deposit..

Very nice mate, can you please give us details on when ordered, when originally expected etc..

All contract have deposit and you will always lose it if you request to back out for a non accepted reason that wasn't stipulated otherwise in the contract.

St Line Vignale, 155, fantastic red, no other extras, ordered Nov 21. Dealer said it could be up to 9 months but was hopeful of a May delivery.

At least it was in the time frame the dealer gave you, so not too bad, looks very nice though, enjoy..

What have you done to me Graham M. That looks, well, fantastic in that colour.....

I dare not change my order.

Can I please add your details to our table?

FYI everyone, I have no monetary deposit on my order at all. My dealer said I'm free to back out whenever cos they'll sell it straight away anyway.

I think different dealer franchises have different rules.

Good news that one has turned up though, and even better news for Graham. Enjoy mate.

No other extras so that explains why it was delivered fast..Anyway, enjoy your new car

I agree, my original order was for the red in Feb, but changed my mind in June and went for the Agate Black.  I just hope I don't regret it 🤣

Forgot to say I'm UK for your table

Hi all,

Don't know if it's readable? Please let me know. (Just looked myself, and if you click on the image, it loads as a clearer image)

I will next update on 10th Aug unless there are loads of updates. If there are, I'll post again next weds.

SmartSelect_20220727-081246_Gallery.jpg

From now on, no special action required, just mention any updates you have as you normally would, and I'll add them to the sheet.

Hey, could you convert this excel to google docs and share with us with edit permissions? It will be a less work for you when anyone can add and update own car 🙂

Good idea there.

Anyone know how to give edit rights to a group of forum members?

Isn't it normally given off email addresses etc?

Easiest way, share it with "anyone with link" and editor option.

It is not a most secure option but works for anyone 🙂, and we can get a way more data 😎

Hi all,

Link now available for everyone to edit.

I will do a few of things though.

1) I will keep an eye on people's updates, and go into the sheet to add updates. That's for those who don't want to edit.

2) I will still post a picture of it here on every 2nd Wednesday for those without access to google docs.

3) Keep a snapshot of all the data as it was, first version will be as it sits today. This is so we can look back at historic data to review slippage / how reliable dealer commitments were.

For everyone else, feel free to update and view as you want.

However, can you please keep the format of date entries and yes / no responses the same as its clearer to compare data.

Cheers all!

Hi All - I don't know if this would be interesting / useful or not... please let me know if you're interested, and understand if you're not.

I've been looking at peoples delivery dates on here to gauge how likely it is that my commitment will be met. I know there are a few on here that have taken delivery already.

I'm willing to track this if we all think it would be useful?

I have pasted an example of what I'm thinking of below. I could paste the latest here once a week or so if people are happy for me to just monitor everyone's comments about what their latest commitment dates are etc, and we could use it to watch progress of everyones orders, hopefully through to reasonable delivery dates.

Hopefully it's visible as I pasted it in from a screen grab of Excel, and we'd want it to be viewable on smartphones etc.

If you think it'd be interesting, then please let me know your information for each of the cells below - i.e. when ordered, what the spec and options are (that way we can see if different specs are getting priority) where you are in the world, if you have a VIN, what the dealer has informed you about likely build dates, and when you last had an update.

Hopefully as we get towards the Autumn, we will see the last column turn green / with a YES in it as time goes along.

Good review for st line manual 155

Great review! I’ve ordered the 155 and am a little disappointed that the tester was underwhelmed by the power ( or lack of torque) It’s a shame Ford didn’t consider the 1.5 ecoboost as an option as it would fill the gap between the car as tested and the full ST 2.3. In my humble opinion.

It's pretty sad they lowered the torque to 190Nm.

My old MK 3.5 (obviously non mild anything) had 170 Nm and with boost 200 Nm. So when overtaking in 3rd or 4th it would boost over 3000 rpm.

And if you add the Bluefin on top of that you get 150hp and 230Nm, and that makes a difference that can be felt by anyone. (and you can switch between maps as you please, like restore the original when you go into service 😄 ). Best thing I got for my car.

Ref the 155.

It's excellent, it really is. Especially with the mhev bit.

My Mrs has the engine in a puma, and it feels rapid. Torque infill is performed by the electric motor too, so it doesn't feel short.

The 0-60 time really doesn't do it justice either as in gear acceleration is strong, and had been compared by some reviewers to the 1.5 182ps.

Ignore the reviewer, it's all relative cos they're used to reviewing stuff with 500bhp.

(Just trying to get your excitement back shinetop, hopefully its worked)

I am sure it has ample power for town and city driving, plimp is right these testdrivers get spoilt, so that makes this review even better.

Agreed it's all totally relative.

Dunno if you're obsessed with YouTube car videos like I am, but Matt the carwow reviewer and doug demuro from the US frequently say 0-60 in 7 seconds isn't that fast, and 340 bhp isn't all that much in today's world.

Does frustrate me that they're not grounded.

Best car I ever owned was a mk1 focus 1.6 saloon. That's right saloon. £100.

Power isn't that important when you have a chassis as sweet as that!

For me anything sub 7.5seconds - shifts - however straight line driving isnt a test of a cars real worth.

Unless your gonna go on a track day or to Germany, what is a high top end or sub 7 sec 0-60 gonna get you?...a speeding ticket.

And i have paid one with just 90ps from my focus tddi back In the days of 500€...

It's the pleasure you take from the driving and not the speed you goes.
