@dtulip8 the tread looks good on the tire so I'd say just repair it if the price of a tire is considerably more. I'd probably wont touch it if it isn't leaking air.

Tyre was completely flat when I got back so I think it could be toast.

Yeah may be the tires gone or check the bead to be sure it's not that. I got my tire for around £40 fitted. C rated for wet grip and fuel efficiency. I think the brand is used on hyundais

They'll be able to tell you when they get the tyre off whether it's damaged beyond repair.

I really don't like it when Netflix takes programs off that I watch a lot, especially when they are ones that aren't available on other streaming services or even DVD.

It looks repairable tbh, and with about 4mm tread it might be worth it.  Depends how much your garage charge for repairs though!

So, I've been seeing a lot of paw prints and fresh scratches on the bonnet and bumper recently...

Just been out giving the car a wipe over now it's cooled down and hear a huge thud while I'm cleaning a rear wheel...

The damn cat is literally on the car while I'm there, cheeky bast*rd!! 😮

The paint is crap in the golf anyway (hence the wipe over instead of a proper clean lol) but that's not really the point.

Don't like getting stung on the end of my tongue by a wasp. Was having a drink, then felt something in my mouth , within milisecs before spitting it out , it stung my tongue. Ouch isnt the word to describe the pain. It's made the whole of my mouth and neck painfull. Even my teeth hurt like toothache. Been 2 hours since and still to painfull to get to sleep.

How on earth did you get a wasp in your mouth? Have you looked at any remedies to sooth the pain?

I think you should get some cat repellent. I remember seeing something in Morrisons like this don't know for sure how it works. I'd be really angry seeing marks on my car. Easy to tell when it's snowing as you'd see paw marks.

Well that's definitely an injury I haven't heard of before!!

I was going to moan about the amount of bugs I had to remove from the flat last night (2 spiders, a fly, a moth, a wood lice and some hard beetle that was ridiculously loud in flight...all in one night! 😮 ) but that seems a bit insignificant compared...  Is it any better this morning?

It doesn't work unfortunately.  It's basically just strong smells that cats aren't meant to like.  When I was at home we tried all of those things as our garden was full of other peoples cats mess, never did find anything to stop it though, citrus, lavender, geraniums etc.  I thought the smell of vinegar window cleaner might have put them off last night but nope!  Don't even need snow to see the paw prints, they dig in mud so they leave muddy footprints everywhere, which are gritty so they scratch the paint as well.  I don't even know where they come from, we're not allowed pets in our rented flats  and it's a private carpark so they must come from one of the houses outside.

The wasp was already enjoying my alcohol in glass, I didn't see it as was watching TV with no lights on. Had a sip and wasp went in mouth.

Tongue still painfull this morning but nothing like last night.

I'm sure I attract these oblivious ar*eholes!?  Watching back I can see they couldn't even keep up with the traffic before the junction, let alone bothering to look or stop once they'd reached it, just roll straight out and expect anyone else to move...  Potty mouth again I'm afraid, I really am trying to rage less but it's hard when there are so many of these fools around!   At least I know the brakes work anyway...

I do realise it's not just me though...some fool hit my Mum's car in a carpark recently...leaving a large scuff on both cars (their drivers side as well!)...and they were so oblivious to the fact they'd done so, they completed their parking in the same space and went shopping!!  Good job there wasn't a child standing there really.

I had some old person scrape my rear bumper and just drive off. Although I seem to do most of the damage to my car, mostly from twice reversing down a 🤬bush that I didn't see (not the same ones though) leaving two huge scratches down the passenger side. I do make a few mistakes every now and then but I put that down to only having been driving for 2 and a bit years so still very inexperienced.

How do you have your NS mirror set out of interest?  I have mine set slightly downwards so I can still see the left lane when overtaking but I can also see kerbs, railings and bushes etc when parking.  I notice a lot of people seem to have them pointing upwards though, presumably in case a plane drops out of the sky or something?   On the Golf there is a mirror dipping function that is meant to lower the mirror when you select the reverse, it worked when I first got the car but can't seem to get it to work since lol!

I must admit, when she told me about it, I realised I must be fairly lucky in carparks, I haven't picked up any car park scuffs yet!  Mum had the same happen to her previous car as well when it was less than 12 months old! 😮  And I've had to replace numerous wings and bumpers on mates cars due to car park scuffs as well.  I fully expect to come of Tesco tomorrow to find another car parked on top of mine now I've said that though...

I have it set similar to you, I was just watching the parking space line on the other side both times and it happened. I get a bit fixated on one mirror sometimes when doing slow speed things like parking and that's what happened.

All it comes down to experience. I've been driving for 4 years now and I'd say still I'm not properly experienced in some things. I've kurbed the wheel twice on my car and that's when driving not parking.

@TomsFocus just today was coming home and saw a mk7 fiesta overtake a taxi and going really fast down a industrial estate. I didn't manage to catch up to him but I'd believe he took a detour like most impatient drivers.

I really don't like this heat especially while my AC isn't working. Was boiling in the car and there wasn't any cold air coming in. I believe the heat affects people's concentration when driving and turn some people into idiots on the road like I mentioned. Also today twice coming home on the short journey I nearly had someone rear end me twice. Once at this temporary traffic light the person in front braked hard and I braked firmly and a volvo XC90 behind looked very close behind me. The other I gave way at a zebra crossing and a guy in a new avensis stopped so hard I heard his wheels screetch.

Not had cats on my car but definitely had magpies and crows having a go at my Zetec mirrors in the past.

On the cat front, I could lend you a dog or two (though they have the occasional tendency to lead to bigger paw prints) .

I've got my driver side mirror up and passenger side lower so that I can see the kerbs (though high enough to see bikes/motorbikes that try and squeeze down beside me in traffic).

I drove my father's Audi S9 (leased at the time) once and was pleasantly surprised to see that it had the auto tilt function that adjusted the mirrors when reversing. Would love something like that in the Fiesta.

I don't like the poor Freeview reception due to the weather over the last few days.

Eldest child started secondary school yesterday I feel so old now,

And youngest starting playschool today

I also don't like that its costing more to put the little lad in play school for the year than it was to put the eldest in secondary school,

Was €980 for the eldest to start secondary

€670 for middle child to progress in national school

And

Play school is €70 per week for 9 months that's €2,520 for 4hr five days per week and no uniform so still needs extra clothes aswell

@Lenny that is a lot but try to remember that that will help them intellectually at a young age and growing up. My masters is £12,750 for tuition fees and student finance only gives a loan up to £10,900 so need £1800 of my money to put into it. Its a bit of money but hopefully this masters will really help me for the job I want to do as they said they really desire people who's done higher education (such as a master). Only worry I have is the training course I want to go onto for the job most of the specialisms are based in the North of England mainly Manchester which is far from me and I don't think I could travel there all the time. You'd have to do another masters as part of the training and Manchester University does most of the specialisms there. There's queen Mary's which does microbiology and isn't far from home so might go into that and hopefully work somewhere in London as you'd need to also work somewhere as part of the course. I'm happy I chose and got into a masters which has microbiology in it and also immunology but just pray this scientist training program doesn't make me have to live away from family because of where it is. Hope also I get in there as I heard its really competitive.

I haven't lost Freeview or DAB reception so far this year, which is odd as I have in the previous 3!!

However I've completely lost Heart 80s on the Kitchen radio...nothing at all, not even static...  Other stations still work fine.  I meant to check it in the car earlier but forgot as I'm using an SD card atm, DAB is patchy in the Golf most rural places I go!  Anyone else lost Heart 80s?
