Mk. 4.5 Delays

Not really, I have preordered at launch in Oct 2021 (but officially registered by Ford in their system on 02.11.2021) and I still have build estimate of October...

I am still of the opinion that they are trying to postpone the orders that are less profitable because of the discount and initial lower price (in the hope we cancel them), which is really scummy... but hey, what do we know.

Less profitable in which way? My car was 21k euro with all the sales, so I think in the UK the cars are more profitable since they're much more expensive...

Bravo!

But this leads me to believe this was a slot for a canceled order in Blue that you luckily got allocated.

Probably, who knows, but I had a VIN for more than 3 weeks and the dealer didn't want to inform me and idk why...

I think you might be right.

JLR have cancelled an order of mine and got me to re-order... At a higher price for less spec...

Ford doing this would not be a surprise to me...

Mine entered the system on 3 of November and is already made.

That is very bad, they were happy to accept the order, its not the customers fault there are delays..

Yep, they cancelled it, we had to reorder & less now has actually cost us more!

For instance, previous order had a digital dash - no digital dash now & previous paint was free, now £900.

Its all in the t&cs so you can't even debate...like it or lump it.

This is also my fear, as the spec I ordered is now nearly £34000 listed price! Obviously I was offered a healthy discount at time of order…

I will hopefully have confirmation of the advised build slot in September. If I am advised that it won’t be built in September, and they say it‘probably’ will be November etc.. then the alarm bells will be triggered and it may never happen. Just have to wait till then!!

Yep, same here, initial price without discount 35K EUR and now the same config is almost 40K without discount.

So by building it they lose 5K + the discount, which now is not even possible to get on a ST-X anymore.

I thought the ST Line Vignale was similar spec to the ST-X .. 🧐

My local dealership are advertising one trim….style . I’m assuming Ford are producing as many cars as they can with as little chips as possible.

That's because they don't have others cars on the configurator and the quote for 2022 it's sold out...Probably in Nov-Dec they'll open the order tables for 2023, hopefully..

I received the following email today from Ford UK customer services

Hi Craig,
I hope this email finds you well,
I have had a response from our progress update team in regards to your vehicle order and have been advised that
This plant is on shutdown until 29th August.
The lack of the build date was due to the ongoing issues with the SYNC 4 supply, providing the SYNC 4 supply carries on improving the sold order bank should be built out by the end of
October.
The scheduling is currently locked until 16th September.
With saying that i do believe the release date for your vehicle will be the end of October due to the delay with the SYNC 4 supply I do apologise however the dealership will have the most up to date information regarding your vehicles delivery date.
I will be closing your case from my end as I am unable to provide any further updates.
Many Thanks.

CraigTon,

Many thanks for this.

This also matches the fact that none of us have been told a build month later than October.

Here's hoping that's how it will go, and we will all be driving shiney new Focus's around with Christmas tunes on the radio!

Good bit of info there confirming the shutdown from ford themselves.

It seems they'll be having a busy Sept and Oct catching up.

Great info! BUT,

Why the hell haven’t Ford communicated with all customers / dealers, and then disseminated the information to us all? To rely on forum members for the information and certainty we crave is an insult from Ford….

I only received this info after I done a bit of digging online to find contact details, so it wasn’t Ford that was forthcoming with this info of their own back

Thanks Craig, my frustration is most certainly not directed at you or your tenacity at getting information. I’m just saddened and bewildered that Ford would feel that it’s ok to treat loyal early ordering customers so shabbily…😵💫😟

Absolutely communication is very poor, but my understanding is pretty much every other car maker are treating customers the same way with orders. I have a couple of colleagues both waiting on new Seats (one is a Tarraco and other is a Leon). One ordered in November and other ordered in March.

Looks as if the Aussies have been dealt a tough hand!

Focus & Fiesta ST - AXED 🪓

They are blaming declining sales, I wonder if the lower sales are down to the delays though..  As long as they don't consider anything so drastic in the UK..

So basically treating customers like muppets is standard practice in the industry… frightening but not unexpected , it may be up us to change that…….

Well to add to the fire.  And a bit off topic for this thread:

My sons partner ordered a Fiesta Titanium Vignale in May, and had a phone call from his Ford Dealer yesterday claiming that all the Vignale range has been discontinued and her order has been changed to a Titanium X. And even though its now a Titanium X the spec will be the same.  I think someone at Fords is telling porky pies here, as I said to her if Ford were able to keep the same spec then they wouldn't be changing the name.

She is now asking Fords for a Full Titanium X spec, so she can compare what she ordered and what they are trying to give her now.  The price they quoted her has remained the same though, so we shall see.

Good review 😎

The differences between X and Vignale are somehow small, you can add them as package(17" alloy standard on Vignale, optional on Vignale, leather seats standard on Vignale, no option on X, winter package standard, optional on X), so yeah, he'll not be disappointed if he got a good price for X.

Actually, in the UK they didn't have the same line up as other countries. Only the simple ST-Line and Vignale trips were available to purchase and they had more differences than the ones outside of the UK. Some of them are the ones that you mentioned of course, but the regular line didn't come with the digital cockpit (whereas in Greece for example, it came with that included), the heated steering wheel, seats and windscreen, wireless charging etc...

Anybody taken or taking delivery this week?
