Has the sync version also changed?

Hello, What is the source of this information?

Ford.

But there is some more news now.

ill update main thread

So just to give you an update. Over the updates re starting again

Updates are being released in batches over a number of weeks / months.

Update 6.1.0 is not a fix for the issues, just a module update to allow the rest of the updates.

There are 3 updates in total. But it is possible if your on an older version, you could have more.

Updates are forced over the air in batches when your vin is loaded in to the update system, when the update happens it sends a command back saying complete.

if the update fails, the system will retry later if possible. Please bear with it.

You may not get the next update straight away.

Ensure you have your updates switched on and you may need to be allowing Ford to send you the update.

if your car is not connected to WiFi, then it will be distributed over the inbuilt 4G sim (Vodafone in the U.K.)

if your not in a great coverage area or no 4G service, then the update will be only sent when ur in coverage range and may take longer.

I should have another call soon and hopefully have more info.

Thanks for the update Daz, hopefully will be fixed before the one year anniversary 🤞

No

  1. 6.1.0  ECG Gateway Module
  2. Possible 6.2.0. Sync /APIM Module
  3. Possible 6.4.0. TCU (Telematics Control Unit)

I believe that’s the order of updates, but it could be wrong.

The above was from page 7.

Hope this helps

Have you noticed improvements to the problems discussed?

I'm still stuck on 6.1 on my Aug 22 Focus...

6.2.0 made it a bit better, at least for me I had a lot less soundstuttering. 6.4.0 didnt fix anything further for me.

What about the map freezing? This is the main issue for me.

Perhaps a little less frequently - but that may just be a coincidence. It certainly didn't happen to me today.

Will the instrument panel be updated like the new Ford Puma? i like it... is so minimal

Anyone has received 6.2.0 or 6.4.0? I’m on 6.1 😭

After a further conversation regarding the update.

6.1.0 is still being distributed as this is getting Sync 4 ready for the next update.
6.1.0 is not a fix of the current issues,  just a module update to allow for the next update.

Now this is where it is a little confusing.
6.2.0 may be partly or all delayed.  When I spoke to Ford, they are aware of a halt with some further testing,

Now it’s possible you may still get 6.2.0 which is normally delivered a few weeks to a month after 6.1.0 installed  But I it may also be delayed

If any one has 6.2.0 already, then 6.4.0 would more than likely still be delivered as this doesn’t change anything and is the last module update.

I my self only got 6.1.0 this week, so when I had my chat with Ford, they were puzzled as initial they were told all updates were halted while a further check was being carried out.

if and when I get the next update, I will let everyone know.

As mentioned, 6.1.0 does not fix the issues, it’s a module update only to allow for next update which is the one that should resolved the issues hopefully.

no, you need to change entirely the instrument cluster because it has another hw and another software, Ford says that they fixed the annoying flickering which it's randomly displayed during driving in the eco mode.

I would like to thank DAZ-uk for keeping us informed, it is the only source of information on Ford.

Here in Spain I was updated toOTA  6.1.0 3 weeks ago, I just have to wait for the next future updates to be resolved.

It's bad management on Ford's part... but we can only hope

Thanks Daz-uk

You very welcome.

i know it’s frustrating for everyone and me. I’m just hoping that 6.2.0 won’t be long.

When Ford had their own forum, it was great to understand and know what is coming out re software.  Since they closed it down, which is shocking on Ford behalf, customers have very little places to go other than customer care.  But it seems somewhat different per country in how they response which is sad.

when I ring anything more out I will let you all know.  The cars will get the updates at different times, it’s just when now

I've just received the 6.2.0 update, didn't Ford stopped the updates? :))

Also, in the app I don't have any info about the last 2 updates..

They had paused the updates but they have restarted last week as I only just got 6.1.0.

When I spoke to Ford, the updates were paused for quality check only at the time.
