I was only advised of 3 updates at first, but anything is possible i suppose. 

Of course not. Ford Germany told me that UK told them to tell me to be patient and that it'll be fixed eventually. 😂

And that they will monitor the progress of my car.

btw: The changelog for 6.4.0 is more or less "you will not see any difference, just background updates". So I guess just a module update.

Totaly agree. What a lack of customer care. It is amazing. Even looks that they are doing it on purpose, it is just a joke. This should have been fixed quickly.

Our cars are buggy and if you bought the technology pack you literally wasted 700 euros, because when the map fails, the pack does not work also, which for me is the most annoying issue since is a security related issue.

Yes, Sync3 was OK on the Focus after a few updates, but this sync4 it's a trash, and Ford doesn't even care about this. 

This is my reply from Ford technician:

All 3 OTA updates are required. 6.1.0 has already been deployed on this vehicle and is for the gateway module, there are another 2 to follow, each for different modules. Once all 3 have been deployed the navigation issue should be fixed.

So I’ve been to the Ford dealer today for my service and Sync chat.

My car was checked with Ford Database and at present all updates have been applied that Ford have released. 
he also checked Sync revision and map revision for me.  Again all up to date as of today.

He did say that the updates get released OTA to the car at the same time to the Garage when available and the updates are VIN dependant.

6.2.0 is still the latest for me that has been pushed to the car.

 

I have noticed that my calls are no longer dropping from car play, now that may be coincidental as I’ve not made as many calls as I avoid it, but I was on a call for 15 mins and normally it would have dropped 2-3 times in that distance, so I’ll wait and see.

Otherwise, maps still freezing as 6.2.0 doesn’t fix that issue.

Lets hope for the next update soon 🤞

Got 6.2.0 update a week ago still getting blacked out part of map occasionally. Hope third update solves this. Don't know yet about drive mode unavailable as only happens about every few weeks

Yes I’ve not noticed my drive modes being unavailable.  But time will tell. 
 

maps are def still faulty and do need the third update when that will be. 

So as already mentioned I still have the PowerUp Version 4.2.1

I raised a complaint at Ford Austria.

They told me i should go to the dealer and he should check if everything is working fine - it is and he also said the same thing as everyone, that the updates come in waves but he just doesn´t know when i get it.

I just got a call from Ford Austria that the issue is already known and there are still around 700 vehicles (in Austria) with this problem and that there won´t be an update this year.

that infers a number of interesting scenarios is at play 🤣

a) Focus owners in Austria are subversive and the spyware in the head unit is different (we need to know what these people think)
b) The spyware for special people is different and runs on different hardware (thus we [Ford] aren't allowed to track them)
c) The Chassis numbers for some reason are non std. and got left off the list - now following std. corporate incompetency policy, rather than asking the state to run a  2 second report so we can add these 700 to the update list efficiently, we need to recruit a contractor on a 6 month contract to write the numbers on a list one by one.  And the budget to pay for the contractor can't be set up until the financial year 2025 - so you'll have to wait.  

Had you officially bought German this wouldn't have happened  🤐

So you're lucky one that Ford hasn't forget about... I'm still on 6.1.0 MY22.5 - maps freezing is just one issue - what about Bluetooth calls - are there still issues with broken voice in 6.4.0 ?

I've never had the problem of hearing broken voices during a call. What happens to me very often, however, is that when I listen to music on Spotify with CarPlay, I sometimes hear dropouts and distortion. Sometimes just like that and sometimes when I interact with the display

This phone call problem is only present in the case of a phone connected via Bluetooth not with carplay / Android auto that use a WiFi connection. 
 

Here in italy we are stuck on 6.1.0 😩

Just received 6.4 today, the climate control it's still really slow and sometimes the map still freezes...I really hate this car infotainment system, luckily, it's not my main driver so I can ignore the errors 🙂

Also, another thing that I've noticed it's that the child warning sound disappeared starting with this update...

It's already available but for cars made in 2024. You can't upgrade your car that was made before 2024 to this new cluster display. 

My FordPass app tells me I now have 6.4.0, nothing in the description for the update to give me any hope given what others have said. Appalling that this hasn't been sorted 11 months after the issue was identified.

UK, purchased in September 2022

when you got the car

when it was first registered

and when it was produced

can be easily be 18 months apart

car manus need to run the factories semi-efficiently, so they build some average spec cars as gap fillers, between real orders  - these can sit in a field rusting for 2 to 3 years before sold as new... when they need to get rid of them as a facelift is coming etc. they throw at dealership / other channels to get shot of them quick !!! 

they use other methods to fiddle the tax man some way or another where they pre resister - and of course often when new emission regs are coming in, the rusty scrap in the field needs be become someone's to get rid of it, as it can't be sold after the new regs officially come in to place

 

in the old days if the price was that good it didn't really matter - but with DSG boxes made of junk till mid 2016, designed to die wet belts and dodgy engine blocks till 2022 (or whatever) and rubbish in car entertainment that can't be fixed with software updates and then with accountants throwing a spanner in the other direction where they stole the IRS off the back and you get 45 year old junk handling or Sick Khan banning you from various towns due to emissions garbage - the world has really moved till you must be really on your game when buying new...
