ssd1984
Do you have any pictures of the wirrings? Do anyone know the differents between part number of the display starting with AM5T-xxxxxx-xx and BM5T-xxxxxx-xx?
JW1982
AM5T-18B955-Dx is the oldest type of Sat Nav display. This part number is superseded by part number BM5T-18B955-Dx. Part number BM5T-18B955-Dx is superseded by part number EM5T-18B955-Dx. The latest part number of the Sat Nav display is EM5T-18B955-DA. As far as I can find all of these part numbers should be interchangeable. However I read before that some versions of the display do not support all of the radio functions (USB for example). A firmware update performed by the Ford dealer should fix this. To avoid this problem I specifically searched for a display which has approximately the same production date as my car. ssd1984
Aha okay, it means that I cannot buy from a 2012 car with AM5T when my car is from october 2013? I have to find one from a 2013 car right?
Typhoonf2
My screen part number was F1BT 18B955 DA. i got mine from a 2014 model this is also fitted in the fiesta. ssd1984
Okay when is your car from? And is there other places than eBay where I can find/buy it? The only one I can find on eBay cost £495 plus shipping! I think it too expensive!
Typhoonf2
My car is a 2013 63reg registered in september so a month older than yours. ssd1984
Okay I will keep looking, I think £220 is a fair price! The part you bought from ford is it the same/correct part as you found on scrap yard? If yes do you have a picture of it? I'm not sure if I understand how it's look like, and how it have to be wired on :-/ maybe if it is the "voice" wire part I could buy it from you before you go and refund it? I'm very happy with my China unit with big touch display, but I think it's more cool with a original unit ; -) Do you want to sell your for £100 included my China unit(bought from eBay 2 month ago for about £300) Just kidding I know you don't want.. .... But when you get tired of your cool genuine unit just contact me, then I will buy it :-D
Typhoonf2
the spare wire ive got is for the traffic not the voice. I think if you went to an audio specialists they would make you up the 2 wires in a few mins. Its really easy to fit. If your in the north west i would help you fit it. ssd1984
On the scrap yard I untaped the radio wiring of the scrap car and took the navigation audio wiring. These 2 wires are connected between the radio unit and the display and are taped together with the other wiring into the main wiring loom. You can also cut the radio unit connector and the display connector with about 15 cm of cable out of a scrap car and use this to solder your own wiring of the correct length. Its very difficult in Denmark to find a car with sat nav, I dont think I its possible for me to find these wires.. Does these two "sat nav voice" wires go directly from the display to the radio unit?? If so maybe I could cut them from the display and solder it into the radio unit, like you said?? I thought maybe they are going from display to car computer, then into radio unit, but I´m wrong right??
ssd1984
I know the price is way too high, but, I found this one on eBay, do you think it will be ok for my car? item number: 271778469847 In the description it says: "Additional Information: sony dab piano black (*) BM5T-18C815-XM SAT NAV COMPLETE WITH SD CARD" Does it means that it have DAB? My car dont have DAB, will I get any trouble with that??
Typhoonf2
I honestly couldnt say regarding the DAB as mine had DAB as standard but i dont see any reason why you cant leave in the radio you have got.

Can you listen to FM radio, or is it just DAB?

Typhoonf2
My radio is dab and fm so i can listen to either. Ive got a black and a white connector on the back of my radio. The wires you need are taped to the dash wiring loom. It goes from the back of radio screen to the back of the radio. My 2 wires came in there own black sleeve there probably about 35cm in length. Typhoonf2
Those 2 connectors youve circled the wiring goes from one to the other. so the connector that goes into back of the screen has 2 spare pins number 6 and 12. And the connector on back of radio has spare pins number 4 and 5. So what you have to do is connect 6 to 4 and 12 to 5. So basically your wiring loom stays the same but you will have these 2 extra wires going from radio to screen.
