Hiya,

Cheers for the link, my Russian isn't up to scratch and don't fancy my chances with Google translate!

Does anyone have a decent translation/instructions for carrying this out?

Easy to do .

Put the navipatch file on a blank USB.

Insert and run the unlock.

Using Forscan with extended licence and Elm cable just edit the APIM  configuration to turn nav on.

Restart sync.

Buy or make your own F5 nav sd card.

Done.

There's another way which involves buying a licence file and installing.

Forscan part has to be done either way.

Cheers Richie,

Pick up my car tomorrow and looking to do this.

Would any ELM cable suffice and do I need to have a set version or latest software on the car to do this?

Guessing the patch allows the navigation to be activated and then the car can read the sat nav from the SD card slot?

Thanks for the advice :)

Jamie

This one is fine.....

The patch circumvents the need for a licence file.

I' ve done 1 this way and it works.

If you want to get the proper licence file go to .....chip ford.russia

If they're asking 5000 rubles then that's approx £65 at the moment.

Probably more with add-ons but still cheaper than £1200 from Ford (which they won't authorise anyway) or $800 from America which requires you to strip out and send your APIM module to them.

Done lots the licence way ( €80 via PayPal )....homemade SD works perfectly.

It MUST be a class 10 or higher SD card or it won't work.

Irony is that most of them I have done were for a local Ford dealer  :)

For them I use genuine cards.

The problem is a Ford dealer won't officially add nav as an after sales option.

Iirc they are only allowed to activate it if the original APIM has been swapped due to failure or as a paid for option on new cars prior to delivering to a customer.

How they can charge so much for an option that takes 5 minutes to do with only the nav card being the extra physical part is beyond me.

Managed to get this going.

Can't test as I don't have the map SD card. Have obtained a copy of the maps provided in the URL but again the instructions on how to activate are in Russian so might be worth my while buying the maps SD off eBay.

Hoping the Insert Nav SD Card is a good sign though!

Thanks for everyone's help :)

I've been studying this all evening, im waiting on the obd cable to come to edit the apim.

As for the sdcard and maps I think this is how it works.

1 - Find your sd card serial number (SD Booster Android App)

2 - Format sd card in fat32

3 - Extract F5Ford to sd card

4 - Plug your sd card serial into the Fordkeygen in the download

5 - That will create a sdcard.key that you place in (\\SDCARD\Nuance\VCA\data\*)

6 - Insert into sdslot in your car

Keep in mind Jamie, that this method is only temporary...so when something happen and the SYNC will reset it self again, then you will lose your NAVI.

I do not know yet that when you will repeat the procedure again if you can activate again. But logically you should :)

The licence procedure is the better one :) but the exploit procedure with .png is the free one :D
