Not heard on that one. Just the full Sync apim update after 6.4.0

But anything is possible.

More the merrier for me as long things work and don’t get broke again.

Nope , still no update 😢. 
latest OTA update is 6.4.0, but some still don’t have that yet. 

Yes, we'll just have to wait and see.

I've just read the sad news that Ford wants to cut more jobs here in Germany. So the updates will probably not happen... *laughs*

I don't know if I am the only one, hopefully not, but unfortunately It doesn't solve all the issues. At least the annoying ones are fine now.

Hi, I received 6.2 update on the 25th October but had nothing else since. I see lots of people saying they have 6.4 already, should I have received 6.4 by now?

All updates are VIN dependant and are rolling out in the countries needing the update in batches.

If you are in older 4.2.1 to 4.2.4 and not had any updates or would like the updates,

Then you would, first check that the system updates are on and all the ticks saying you are happy to share data with Ford.
Also the battery has to be in a good state of charge. 
You will need to be In a good 4G area or connected to WiFi.

Finally, this is great! I’ve finally sorted all the rattles in my car, and once this update is done I will finally be able to enjoy the car completely, once the main crashes and audio glitches are fixed. Do let us know what your experience is like if you are able 🤩

I own a MK4.5 Focus ST. I initially had a faulty speaker where, whenever the car enhanced the exhaust sound, the driver’s side tweeter would crackle right behind my ear. After some investigation, the local Ford dealer eventually replaced the speaker under warranty. They also adjusted the spoiler and various trim pieces towards the rear of the car in the process.

The first rattle I encountered was due to a screw bit that had presumably fallen beneath the boot floor while Ford was working on the car earlier. The second issue was caused by a rubber standoff on the boot lid not being fully tightened, which left the boot lid imperceptibly out of alignment and resulted in a persistent metal rattle while driving. I tightened the standoff myself, and now everything is sorted.

Thanks, Im currently with a rattle that i think that is on the drivers door or Pillar which i fell on a bumpy road or with some high bass music.

Also hear another coming from the rear, maybe left rear Passenger door or Boot.

If someone hás some sort of this ratlles please let me know

Hello All.

So today the software we have all been waiting for, finally installed.

You must have had Software Module updates first which is Sync Version, 6.1.0, then 6.2.0 will download and install, then and 6.4.0 will install next.

Only when the last update is installed (6.4.0) you will eventually get the below

from
Sync Software Version

Revision
915 ➡️ 1286

Good
1) No Map freezing
2) No Garbled Bings
3) No Dropped Calls
4) Smoother Animation
5) Home page now shows network signal if phone has Apple Car play

Changes
1) Battery Icon no longer shown as per image if connected via Apple Car Play

How it Installed. 
4 Boots of the system in total
On starting the car this afternoon the car did the following.

1st Boot. This showed the Ford Logo and then the whole screen went completely off (Dead) for 10-15 Mins
(I was worried think the system had completely failed)
(Do not do anything, touch anything, or turn the car off etc, the 1st part of the update is installing in the back ground) (You have to be patient)

2nd Boot. The car will boot up automatically after it has installed the first update.
The Ford Logo will suddenly appear and boot Sync Up.
You will notice
Maps may not work and say updating / Loading
Intelligent Cruise/Cruise control / Speed sign recognition will malfunction and advise it’s not available.

(Don’t Panic)
If you’re at this point, allow 5 to 10 Mins for the 2nd part of the update to install.
I had to switch of the car, lock it and allow to go to sleep (Allow a few mins for the car to shut down and the Sync 4 unit go to sleep.

3rd Boot on starting the car, Maps, Cruise Control, Speed sign recognition came back online. 
A further 5 - 10 Mins passed and I received a message that the software was successfully installed
I still noticed a little sluggish using the system, but this can be normal after a brand new version of software is installed. So I turned the car off, locked it and went in for some food.

4th Boot
After some food and leaving the car for a few hours, On this boot, Sync 4 booted up as normal and was running very smooth and everything loading, working fine.

I’ve not noticed and new menus, animations or anything. Just a system that works and feels much better.

I wouldn't say it feels polished finished, but it’s 100 times better that what we had.

Possible Issue
1 thing I have notice and will keep monitoring.

When entering the main menus or radio etc, I’ve notice the little maps it can show on the right side or left side, depending on the country. This can take some time to first load with the circle going round saying updating. 
After it loaded , it was fine for the rest of the drive and was fast on showing the maps when flicking round the menus.

Now this is my experience and you may or may not get the same as me.
But I wanted to share it so if you do, you will know what to expect.

is your apple signal strength really the battery but in a different style and location?

 

nice write up either way 😀  so in a race to fix bad software, Ford scrape over the line just short of a year, vs VAG's 18 months of laziness

24.2.0.13 is the packaged version number
This contains multiple software elements that’s needed to update Sync 4. 
this file normally contains 5-10 parts to update as it’s not just one piece of software. 

24145 is the physical revision of Sync 4. 
 

24.2.0.13 was packaged Aug/Sept 2024

Sync version 24145 was finalised 25th May 2024

The complete packaged version is correct regarding the dating and why it’s taken so long to wait for the updates.

Module updates and would be needed first. 

Before any release a testing needed to be done due to the issues which is why we’re getting them in bits. 

Ford originally included the module updates inside the packaged version. This did not work and so it delayed the update. 

There was also talk of Ford advising people may need to go back to the Garage for the update  This is something they needed to avoid for expense and in conscience  Which is also why they needed to be 100% correct with the updates  

 

Regarding the symbol. 
It’s the network signal and is constant changing when driving so u know the signal strength.

Apple CarPlay off shows both the signal and Batter strength. 
 

A lot of people may not know this. 
Apple car play uses WiFi to work and not Bluetooth. Bluetooth switches of in Sync when Apple CarPlay is on. 


Apple CarPlay os switched of, then the phone connects via Bluetooth only.

1 last positive today. Since leaving the car over night and allowing the system to finish everything,

It’s become very smooth and fluid, no lags between menus etc and everything is working as it should.
 

Maps are refreshing very quickly in menus from small to medium to large and no map freeze, no dropped calls, no sound issues.
 

It’s what we are hoping Sync 4 should be 👍
