It's time Ford got there act together with these updates.

My car is still on PU version 4.2.1.

Priority Update 23-PU2001-PR-FX 2023 is the only update my car has received since new on April 23.

anyone else still on this early version ?.

I'm on the same. I bought my Focus in September 23, I was 1st registered Feb 23 and used as a dealer manager car. I bought it 2nd hand from them as the manager was leaving. I had this update shortly after buying the car, but have had nothing since. Having said that i haven't had any of the problems reported by others with freezing etc. Possibly we are on a slightly different version which isn't affected as much and they are prioritising those with most issues? I did turn updates off for a while, having read all the horror stories but turned back on a while ago. I am getting the battery saver mode message most days at the moment, so maybe that's another possible reason for no updates, but the website and app doesn't show any are due.

I've booked a service for next month so I'll see if the dealers do anything then. Last year they replaced the Sync module due to some other issues.

I usually always turn this stop/start out when I start the engine. ( I think as you: Not that good for the parts). But my wife has a Focus 2022: Start/Stop never worked for about a year... Finally they replaced 2 times the battery and the Batttery Managment sensor. Since that time Start/Stop works, but she turns it off too. But sometimes we simple forgot to switch it off

I have just received today the update. I am from Spain. I have activated the wifi modem of my phone to connect the car to it and the car automatically started to download from the wifi instead of the 4G modem, since I have a really good 5G connection in the phone. You can do the same if you have the wifi disabled to save battery as I do. As the gentle people of this forum have said, the update is very big, so wifi connection can help a lot if it is better that the default 4G modem of the car, which connects to the Vodafone network.

I bought ST three months ago, built end of 23. Thought I'll have a look at updates. I have version 4.0.23152 and the car says there are no updates waiting for me. Judging by comments here, that is a bit old. Fords website only tells me that I have OTA enabled so the car will let me know. I park in underground garage so I doubt it will be able to download anything down there.

Could I get assurance from fellow owners that the (potential) update wont introduce active alerting on speed limit? One of the reasons I looked for vehicle made prior to 1Q of 2024 as it is mandatory in EU now.

It'll not be since it's also something HW so it'll not be introduced via software. 

Finally got the big sync update! 🎉🎉🎉

My experience was totally different from the one told here. He started downloading the update around 06.00 pm yesterday, I kept the car on about 1 hour and a half during the trip it totally downloaded I think the update. After about half an hour that the car was turned off I received the notification of the completed update. When restarting the next morning everything was perfect, no black screen or map update alerts in progress, just an alert about the completed update! Obviously totally solved the navigation and dropping Bluetooth calls!

I checked this morning and the big update is also downloading for me. Had two 30 min drives and a 45 min drive so far today and it's still downloading. Will check when I finish work tonight if still downloading.

Same here, finnaly the update came and was downloaded during the night.

Going to test a bit if it fixes the issues

Has anyone noticed any frame lag with Apple CarPlay after the update?

It no longer seems fluid when making transactions from one screen to another and the navigator also seems to lag

Had finished downloading by the time I got home and installed during during the night. All up and running this morning. Only issue was the map was a little jerky for the first few minutes but then sorted itself out.

Got the update showing up as well, but status went from „Downloading“ to „Not completed“. Whatever this means.

Can I please ask where are you guys seeing the progress of the download or if it's downloading at all?

Its under Settings > Software Updates > Update Details

Me neither mate, my car is an April 23 and still nothing, currently on 4.2.1

Maybe updates so far are on cars pre 2023?

I thought this was the case, but I never saw anything here other than the last update details (6.4.0). However today I started my car after a few days of inactivity and it initially showed the same 6.4.0 details but then the screen suddenly updated to show this:

 

So looks like it's finally happening for me. Let's see if it succeeds in downloading and updating. My SoC is currently 61% so not very hopeful, but at least it's something for now.

I was on 4.2.4 since Dec 2023 (the version around where all the SYNC glitches began), then received the 6.x.x ones over the course of October, last one being 6th Nov. Then nothing at all until today. I understand that you need the 6.4.0 update in order to receive the latest SYNC update.

Yes, mine was built May23 and just had the final big sync update yesterday.

Finally...

 

After the download stopped on 3rd January it restarted on the 14th January.

It must have completed the install overnight (made two half-hour trips yesterday).  After the second car start today (about one minute into the journey) the screen went blank for about 20 seconds then displayed the new software new install complete. When I got home it had indeed installed with the latest : number 24145.

So far it all looks good.

After driving 1.5 hours.. How joyous. I had 4g signal the whole way and it was downloading when I started the journey.

Yesterday my son called me: He´s got the same car as me. Focus build Feb. 24: Update availabe for him. So I guess mine will come soon too....
