Things I Don't Like

Tucking the money away is very wise.

One day a hooping big bill is likely to arrive when one of the companies figures out that an answer.

Do you remember that poor Welsh pensioner that n-power sent the wrong bill to?

He was expecting his monthly bill of about £90-100, he was sent a bill for £21 million! :o :o :o

They weren't exactly helpful to him, when he was queried it, suggesting he might like to use a budget account etc. It was only when the CAB and then the media took it up: that it was remedied

They'd sent him Chorus Steel's bill by mistake

I don't like that the aa reps my in law dealt with seem clueless. I am sure they put the wrong battery in... Long story short he called them out again yesterday. They guy didn't have a clue. Said it was a Ford battery, it wasn't. Didn't know what the smart charge was and they put a battery in with no cold crank and charged him a fortune. Checked the part numbers today and sure enough it's wrong. They put aa003 in and should have put aa4003 in. He will be having words tonight!

Your own??

Your own??

I'd hope so, anybody else and I'd give them a kicking for being impertinent twits.

I don't like catching a few good clips on the dashcam and then forgetting to take the memory card in from the car! Ah well, I'll do it tomorrow. One was a bus driving with NO headlights on at 17:20 on a main road in the (obviously) pitch dark.

Something I didnt like today...

I got out to the car this morning to run the little one to school, found this...

Took about a 19 point turn and 15 minutes to get out (had to keep getting out of the car to see what space I had in front and behind!). The motorbike I can excuse, at least it was parked in a valid parking space, unlike the halfwit in front. whom parked across a dropped kerb, with a clear white keep clear line... I left a rather polite though angry note (at least for the first few lines), it read like this:

"Dear Inconsiderate parker,

Due to your idiocy and inability to park in a genuine parking space, and parking your car 3 inches off my own, I had to perform an impressive 19 point turn, was delayed by 15 minutes, my son was late for school, my baby missed a doctors appointment, and I would have otherwise been late for work.

Please learn where parking is legal and permitted and dont PLAC (capitalised throughout all words!)

Park like that in front of my vehicle again, and you wont have a damage free bumper next time, and I can promise you 4 flat tyres :)"

I personally thought given the delay and anger at the time I did quite well.

Yeh :p

I felt like being lazy after for the second time I couldn't reverse / parallel park straight, I thought sod it who's guilty I passed years ago and 9 times out of 10 get it spot on. I paid the price though all the pointing jeering and laughing

Speaking of Vodafone, I've been with them at least 14yrs.... They've decided to blacklist me on experian and the like, over their own mistake back in the summer! I've been in touch and they've said sorry our mistake and all the rest of it - still waiting for them to rectify it!

Slightly similar, Brandy can get quite vocal when I'm trying to find a poorly marked address and/or park in a tight spot and she wants the loo.

Her repeated "I need to ablute now!" woof utterances can get quite distracting. More so, after telling to wait a moment, it seems to make her special "I can't hold it in any longer" whiney woofs intensify with both volume and frequency. Which in turn, can lead to parking embarrassments :(

You tell 'em James!! Many a time I've been tempted to do that, but the situation meant I could not (no pen/paper, in a rush etc...).

Lol, as long as out of gear/not auto I'd just have nudged it forwards a bit... Have done that more that once when I had older cars. Handbrakes aren't all that strong.

I went back after I did my errands and left the note . 4 hours later it wad still parked in the same spot. They came out to it and there was a space behind and a space in front, what do you think they did? That's right they left it on the keep clear and ignored all surrounding spaces and loaded the boot with rubbish

As for nudging I would have done it but a) I respect my bumpers and didn't want to damage them on that twit and b) there was a car in front of him he had boxed from behind so nudging wouldn't have worked. I am tempted to install a nudge bar though lol

My Dad used to have some printed notes for occasions like this

"Next time *naughty name*, leave me a *chuffin'* tin opener so I can get my car out!!"

Mother found them and banned either of us from using them :-(

I'm sure that is illegal, I just can't think of the term...

Wouldn't surprise me, I mean you'd fail your test for it easy

Frustrating, especially when there's no need for it (cyclist, etc)

I'm sure that is illegal, I just can't think of the term...

Likely to be driving without due care & attention or careless driving or inconsiderate driving - on a driving test it is / was failing to make progress

I don't like that my teeth have suddenly become sensitive without any warning. Hot drinks have become a little awkward

According to my dentists website's FAQ, it can happen and it can equally suddenly disappear too

I think that's driving without due care and attention: Clive or Mark will know the exact infringement of the Road Traffic Act

Driving without reasonable consideration seems the most appropriate offence

I don't like the fact my dashcam isn't working when something interesting happens! :(

Not everyday you meet someone head on, on the 'off' slip road of a 70mph dually!

Que an elderly gent trying to do a 3 point turn on a slip road!!

I did try to point him in the right direction but he just mouthed 'I know' before passing me and turning round...not the reaction I expected at all lol.

I don't like having a visual aura which lasted for about 50 minutes. :( During which, I couldn't focus properly nor see with any clarity :(

It has now subsided and gone, leaving me with a rather strong headache, that seems to be coming from behind my eyes.

Googling the symptoms, suggests it a migraine with aura. However, I'm not migraine sufferer! Nor is anyone in the family! :o

All migraine forums, more or less, say you 'develop' getting migraines as in your teen years: not suddenly much later in your adult life. And it tends to 'run' in families.

I wonder what triggered it? and is it/was it a migraine?

Welcome to my world. I suffer that at least once a month and like you the aura normally comes first (sometimes accompanied by numbness down one side of my face and arm) and then the headache that feels like Sharon Stone is testing out her ice pick on my forehead.

I should be grateful though, as I used to get them WEEKLY (around 2-3 times per week in fact) when I was at my last job. Thankfully I didn't drive back then, as I would have had to abort a few trips mid-way due to the aura.

I don't like the fact that nobody in Scotland seems to have heard of the term "walk around" before driving!!

I swear, one in every ten vehicles we passed this evening had a blown headlamp bulb.

Yes, it happens to the best of us sometimes - we are in a rush and forget to check, or it blows whilst driving which is a situation you have no control over. But after seeing (and I counted) over 10 vehicles in a 30 minute drive with at least one bulb out, there is no excuse. Most of them were new cars as well, not your old rusty 1995 Vauxhall Corsa but 2010+ VWs, BMWs, Hyundais etc...

The way I see it headlamps should be treated like tyres. If they are defective, DON'T DRIVE. You wouldn't drive without changing a flat tyre, so don't drive without changing a blown bulb.

On the bright side (see what I did there?), all the buses we passed had bothered to turn their lights on, unlike last night where a full-size Stagecoach drove past with only the parking lights illuminated.
