Have you not got a magnetic filter in your system? I would totally recommend one, pulls all that stuff out of your pipes and makes it more efficient 😉

This was a week after having ours installed, it had already been cleaned the first day we had it and the second and then left for 5 days.

I'd like to fit one of those dont currently have one fitted,

Is there a particular model that is recommended or are they all much the same ?

I'll purchase in preparation for my dad arriving as I wouldn't be confident in fitting myself; it may also help a problem I'm having with the new vertical double radiator fitted in the hallway,

It's not heating up atall, the valves are stiff and changing them might help too; I've to purchase a replacement set, it used to heat up fine when first fitted and the Grundfus circulation pump in the Glen boiler unit outside is all the way up at level 3 which is maximum flow it can do,

We got the same magnet filter in ours, surprising the stuff it collects in first few days. I clean it every 6 months.

Is that fitted high up in the circulation loop? As in is it higher than some of your radiators Or does the positioning height matter ?

It's right next to the combi boiler in the garage, so higher than the downstairs rads not that that should make any difference. The system is pressurised .

Thanks,

My system is pressurized aswell;

I've integrated all the radiator pipes inside the walls

and as result the only locations I have left where pipes are accessible is either outside at the boiler by fitting two braided flexi hoses to the circulation pump perhaps allow some maneuverability to fit a magnetic filter,

Or

Upstairs in the hot press or as you Beautiful people like to call it "the airing cupboard" is the only other location where a pipe can be accessed.

We've got the Adey Professional 2 which I chose because they seemed quite easy to clean (I got a plumber to fit it) and got good write-ups. I really don't know about flexipipe on it though 🤔

I seem to remember that they advise you to install it as near to the boiler as possible, and I think on the return to catch any bigger bits before it gets to the boiler.

This video explains things a lot better than I ever could. 😉

I generally get a big container like a kettle, fill with luke warm water then just pour it over the windscreen. Generally takes the frost off along with the condensation inside. Don't think the heated screen works on mine or it just takes long

Leaving the arguments against this method aside (can it crack the screen?)

Take warm water downstairs and defrost screen.

Put container in car and drive to work etc

Come home and take container back upstairs 👍

I've just found a massive downside to this. My neighbour did it before dawn this morning...the run-off has since refrozen and turned the gap between our spaces into an ice rink! 🤦‍♂️

Why not move the car in a space people don't walk in or park? Hopefully might prevent and accidents. Today now it's gotten colder than yesterday

@TomsFocus this is a good watch. Actually agree on his say about these TV shows increasing younger peoples expectations on their body appearance

Partly because I couldn't care less about the paint, the local cats will continue to ruin it far more than anyone else.  But also because there aren't any empty spaces now.  Too many cars and ignorant neighbours that can't park...we're meant to have one space each, yet most flats have 2 people with a car each now...and one flat even has 4 cars taking up 6 spaces between them.  Further fuelling my hatred of other people...  Honestly wish I could just move into the countryside away from people altogether.

I do like Russel Howard, bit of a shame he doesn't do 'Good News' on Tv anymore.

I don't know if these are actually increasing body image issues though, there were plenty of body image issues when I was at school over a decade ago...  I think most of know if we're in the minger catergory...I'm convinced that's why a lot of us mod or buy nice cars as we know we're stuck with this body/face but cars are easily altered!

@Lenny just thought about the filter, don't think flexi would work as it needs the fixed pipework to actually hold the filter up.

Your not the only one. I've stopped liking having to travel. When I take public transport to uni you may come across someone pushing in or going around a queue to get on a bus or train even when it's hardly full. Just drove to the train station today to go to the dentist and when coming back I had this bus driving closing behind me in traffic. There was a temporary traffic light which caused the traffic and I noticed he'd press his horn when it goes green. I gave way to 2 people in front (who used the side roads to queue jump 🙄) and I noticed the bus driver flashed his lights behind me. I then flashed my hazards as a gesture of sorry which must of made his eyes pop out with how bright they are 😂. Makes me wonder why a bus driver would even drive like that.

I also completed the tests. Wasn't really bad but hope now I get an interview. Was really stressing out yesterday, in my sleep and today morning about the numerical reasoning test but that wasn't as bad as I anticipated.

I also got my braces on finally. Feels so weird. Happy I started the procedure even though I'm 22 now and left it so long.

I see lots of soft food and soup in your future.
I had braces many years ago and every adjustment caused me discomfort.
I'd top up on Paracetamol as well if I was you.

Yeah that's something I'm worried about. At the moment when I press on one of my front teeth it feels uncomfortable. The dentist did say to have ibuprofen for any pain. I just hope it's not bad enough to make me sick.

For me they didn’t hurt at all, only when I had the spacers in for a week before the train tracks. Adjustment made them hurt for max 2-3 hours.

Unfortunately it is gonna hurt for sure.
Your teeth are getting pulled around in their sockets.
Paracetamol with caffeine work well (caffeine helps to make the paracetamol work faster).
Paracetamol with codeine if pain gets real bad but only sold over the counter and shouldn't be used for more than a couple of days as they can be addictive (plus they bung you up, can cause strange dreams and may affect alertness).

It's gonna be worse when I move too...need to try and reduce my fuel bill by about half to cover the extra rent (no choice in the move sadly)...basically means no driving other than visiting Nan once a week and a supermarket shop once a week.  Plus I'll no longer be able to get a hose/jetwash to the car so it's unlikely I'll clean it at all then.  Knowing my luck that's when something major will break leaving me right up the creek!

Anyway, I'm trying to make the most of driving and get some sort of enjoyment from it now.  Had to laugh yesterday...the council have dropped one of our best B roads from a 60 to 40 sadly, so there's only one 60 section left along that whole road to give it a blast now...I was being followed by a Mk7 Golf GTi all the way through the 30mph villages and the 'new' 40 section, not tailgating or anything, tbh I quite liked seeing it in the mirror.  Then we both had the same idea when we got to the only 60 section left....I gunned it and he stuck to my rear end through the twisties at '60mph' until we got to a safe, visible straight where he flew past me as if I was in reverse!!  I managed to keep up through the next set of twisties (surprised me tbh, obviously haven't got the acceleration on straights but the handling is still decent on the mk6!) until we got to the next 30mph and we both dropped back to a sedate 30mph again as if nothing had happened!

Bus drivers have a strict schedule to stick to and will have to deal with lots of angry passengers when they're late so I can see why they drive aggressively sometimes...especially in London traffic lol.

Well done on the tests, how long until you get the results?

Can't comment on braces as I've never had them but hope they're not too uncomfortable.

Don't know if I say it hurts but more of a uncomfortable feeling at the moment. Similar to how you press up against your teeth. I just get a fear that I hope this feeling doesn't cause my teeth to dislodge and fall out. I don't know about the train tracks though next week the dentist said about coming in again for them to put the crown on the back teeth. They showed me a mole of how the teeth looks with the braces on but not sure if there's anything else. Hopefully not 😂

@Stoney871 will keep that in mind 👍. Feels like it's going to be a long adventure

@TomsFocus can't remember the last time I went on a B road. Well I remember scratching the side of the car by a twig when I went down one which luckily was able to come out with a compound.

The test results I think will be out soon as the deadline to get them done were yesterday at 5pm. You don't know how much stress I had yesterday and the day before. The day before I did the logical test which was harder than any of the practice ones I did. After that was practicing for the numerical one which is the one I worried about the most. Yesterday morning managed to do it and it wasn't as bad as I thought. Only now I just have to pray I did well enough to get an interview. I was speaking to a lady who got into the training however for the more competitive specialism which is 1/100 to get in. She said she felt like she did horrible in the test but she still got an interview. She said you have to beat 1/3 of the applicants to get a place for an interview. I feel like I did okay but just praying it was good enough.

Also have a presentation to do today in the afternoon which I didn't put a lot of time in due to the stress of the tests and dentist. After that however I don't think I have any assignments for the moment so can hopefully relax in the weekend after all this stress

Having heard this song recently having not hear it for many years;

Has got me wondering about back in the days of Telephone connection Operators; I wonder did they ever recieve any death threats 😅 as you can feel the distress in the song that his life depends upon the continuation of the phone call

Might miraculously add 10hp to the car 😂. Do recommend you getting their bulbs. You'll be surprised on how bright the performance range bulbs are.

@zain611 hopefully they will be an improvement on the standard bulbs. I had a sales email from Autobeam on Sunday advertising the new full LED ambient under glow kit for the Fiesta ST (https://autobeam.co.uk/collections/fiesta-mk7-5-st-2013-2017/products/ambient-underglow) but for £160 they can do one. I guess if you're into car shows and want to be all singing and dancing then it's a good product but as it's restricted to being used under certain conditions, the price is high!!
