Though after seeing the Manctopia series on BBC2 I don't think they're building houses there any more, all luxury high rise apartment blocks! 😮 Its about 3 miles from a town centre. Ive seen some even more expensive with Barratts, some of theirs are like £150k plus for a 2 bed
iantt
Wouldn't get a 1 bed flat for that price round here unfortunately ☹️☹️ 2

In 2 years time the property market might have totally collapsed though, so that's something to look forward to I guess...

I will be looking for anything in between Bolton and Chorley (family in Bolton, work in Chorley) 😂. And i wouldn't mind a bit of a crash in the property market 😂😂
Zico
@Matthew McGuinness if this makes you feel any better, I'm nearing the completion on buying a 2 bed top/second floor flat in Ashford, Kent via Shared Ownership and the full market value is £220,000. I'm buying 60% share (so £132,000) and have a large deposit but still found some mortgage lenders not wanting to loan to me (am getting a 75% LTV). If you're going through Help To Buy or Shared Ownership then you're probably already aware of this site: https://www.helptobuy.gov.uk/equity-loan/find-helptobuy-agent/
Stoney871
I'll trump that, I bought my 3 bedroom house off the council for £35,000 on a valuation of £112,000.Market value is now £160,000.Got the massive discount due to living in it for 10 years. The market would have to severely crash for me to lose any profits.Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
TomsFocus
I don't like being rudely awakened by the air ambulance landing behind my flat again this morning! Never happened at all in 5 years, then happens twice in a month! Damn inconsiderate of someone to be unwell so early on a Sunday morning!

Still if air ambulance still required then. It won't be those inconsiderate group.

Weird thing is, we're only 2 miles from the hospital so I can only assume they needed to be taken to a specialist unit. The guy that got shot a month ago was taken to Addenbrookes.
Eric Bloodaxe
Last week the council finished resurfacing one of the main roads through our village. Top notch job too, totally reconstructed, not the usual surface dressing bodge, all grates, etc properly levelled, new surface really smooth and quiet to drive on. So, what's not to like? Well, this morning the water company started digging it up....!😠

TomsFocus
I don't like that I still can't get a Tesco delivery slot less than 2 weeks away...even Ocado don't have any and their entire business is delivery! Is there a trick to finding the slots? Anyone else struggling to get one?

Now click and collect is an experience now they won't bag stuff up

I really don't get the bagless thing...it's just doubling their unload times when they don't have enough slots as it is. Why not use recycled/recyclable paper bags? 🤔
iantt
I normally use click and collect and quite happily reuse the bags they packed shopping in. Now when I ordered my click and collect over a week ago there was no option to either have bagless or tray liner/bag option at £0.40 . Needless to say I went to collect as usual and was told to park in a space away from the click and collect. I thought strange, what was this in aid of. Next ,trolley was wheeled over with multiple green bins they use when shopping for you. I'm left to unpack the individual shopping and Chuck it in my boot space . Not ideal esp when I got home. Lol Yesterday I collected again with the tray liner/bag option showing. So I turned up. Shopping was in the green bins with a plastic liner underneath. This time the shopping was put in the boot for me by grabbing the corners of the liner and putting in boot. Heavy items and delicate items all jumbled together. Needless to say quite alot of shopping was crushed by bottles of lemonade, milk, bleach etc. My square loaf of bread wasn't square any more. A squashed mess. The tray liners are of no use unlike the bags. So getting thrown away.

Probably not much use but if you got a new clubcard account they seem to get better/quicker delivery slots. We were struggling to get decent slots as we were having weekly orders, us and my mum's shopping delivered here alternate weeks, and our daughter opened an account and can nearly choose any slot 🤷

I think it's only Ocado that still use bags. They have quite a few offers so not as expensive as I thought overall, but I just can't get a slot. Read online they release them at 6pm so waited with the page open and refreshed it at the turn of 6pm...never saw any new slots at all! None this morning either. 13 hours ago, Turvey said: Probably not much use but if you got a new clubcard account they seem to get better/quicker delivery slots. Ocado does still use bags but you are charged for them the same as any other supermarket etc. However, Ocado actually recycles their bags and has done for a long time. I used to work for them when they first came to Yorkshire and at the end of every shift, I'd have a case full of returned bags from customers. They now offer a bonus scheme for customers to recycle bags. Every bag sent back for recycling gives the customer 5p bonus. Ocado also accepts bags from other supermarkets too so you could be quids in if you've got loads of bags hidden away.

Have just booked a Tesco click & collect for Monday afternoon... Only one item currently out of stock but will check again on Sunday and add it if it becomes available. Have chosen bagless as I don't want to risk a tray liner. Will take my Sainsburys 'reliabag' and cool bag to decant into... Hopefully won't take too long and I won't get flustered by the next customer watching lol. Will try an Ocado delivery for the week after if they ever open any slots!
