I've always been a gamer, but I'm from a generation that wasn't "cool" to do so.

I always have voice chat turned off unless I know the people IRL, or the rare exception of my Destiny clan (but I'm now an Admin there so can boot people that talk crap :D)

Gaming has always been cool though, right from the days of NES and Megadrive.
There's only a few people I chat to that I don't know irl. I never use in-game chat on any game (especially GTA).
However, I hardly have anyone to play online with now as some have other commitments, some have moved to PC or stopped playing games we all used to play like GTA or the crew 2.

It was not widely cool when I was going through school to be in to video games and technology. It was only cool for those that appreciated it.

It's only become normal in wider society in the past 5-10yrs, now it would be odd for anyone under 25 not to be in to gaming.

I don't remember it ever being uncool...but does depend on the game.

CoD4 online replaced MSN Messenger as the place to be after school around 2007!  I did have quite a few (at least 8! ) online gamer friends back then.  Of course we've all drifted apart since then, most have 'real lives' now, whatever they are!

I went to a Catholic school (atheist now), so maybe it was just that, haha.

Possibly, but you are also just slightly older than me...  I think online gaming only became cool when the Xbox 360 launched it, I don't remember online PC games being cool before that.  But single player console games like GTA have always been cool...that probably wasn't common in a Catholic school though!!

Yeah I started uni in 2007 when you were still at school, I was playing GTA with my friends from school age 11.

Vice City was the game I bought with my PS2 😄

Oh, I stand corrected then!  Did your parents know what it was about?  Or did you have to stand on someone's shoulders with a trench coat and false moustache to buy it?

My mum decided it was better to let me play it in the house, than say no and me just play it around someone else's house anyway.

@Nick Y can add me if you want. Playing gta online then one of the free psn games you get each month every late evening now.

@alexp999 I must of been around 4-6 years when I played vice city. Probably still has the best soundtracks in a gta game. Lol I don't swear or commit a crime now so videogames can't influence people

I just stick to PC gaming, prefer the mouse / keyboard interface to joysticks.
I have a triple screen set-up at home and an MSI laptop for away days.
I have a PS3 but it's gathering dust.
Mostly playing FarCry New Dawn and Ghost Recon Wildlands, I beat the most recent Call Of Duty in 5 hours and while it was decent I haven't found much draw to go through it again.
New Dawn draws me back again and again as I'm hooked on finding resources to upgrade weapons, most are now 6000 points and up so pretty much can chin anything that moves [emoji6].

Not so much a like but gave me a chuckle!

Walked out of Tesco in a post-Corona shopping fuzz this morning.  Walking towards the car I noticed a load of mud splatter on the NSF alloy...hmm, odd, I don't remember driving through any muddy puddles.

Then plipped the fob and tried the door...didn't unlock, plipped the fob again but no unlock noise or hazard flash.

It was at this point I noticed the 2 pink fluffy toys on the dashboard and a can of something in the centre console.  How did they get in th...

And then I realised my car was in the next strip of bays along...

Tbf, it was another black Mk6 and even had the same alloys...

I hated Far Cry...  Think it was number 2, was a surprise birthday gift, I certainly hadn't asked for it.  Most anxiety inducing game I've ever played!!

Original Far Cry was decent but to get it to run now you require a patch to stop all terrain from being whited out thetefore making the game unplayable.
Far Cry 2 wasn't the best, I found multiple glitches in it whereby game advancing interactions wouldn't work properly.
Far Cry 3 onwards got much better tbh.

Desperately trying to see some positives in the current situation. I guess the car might stay cleaner now after a wash when it's hardly used?

Yes I'll try and put a few more run-in miles on the Caterham on Sunday morning. I have to say all this has rather cast a shadow over finally getting it and Spring arriving

I'm planning on cleaning the car tomorrow. Might give a suggestion for what you could do.

To be honest best really not to expose yourself to any risk factors that might get you sick especially not passing it to family

Another Playstationer on here?

On the plus side, the latest Call of Duty online is cross platform if you fancy getting that!  I'm on there for an hour most days.  Story was also pretty good, just not very long!

They have also released CoD Warzone for free...  It's a proper team game though so I just stick to the old-style multiplayer with randoms.

I bought 4 packs of AA batteries for the Xbox controller from Poundland this week so that should keep me going for a while!  Of course, if things get really bad I'll have to disable the vibrate function! 😮

I still have my Xbox One, just bought it as my local electronics store had it for a good price. I’ve been on Xbox since 2012.

Don't forget Dan & Zain are much younger than us...  They must be part of the Fortnite generation?

I don't have any online gamer friends so just 'fill' multiplayer teams.  I don't take gaming seriously though, it's just a past time for me, rather than a competition.  I don't wear a mic so can't hear most people.

Second post because I didn’t see this other reply lol, I hate Fortnite! Tried PUBG and didn’t like that either. I mostly play GTA, FIFA and Forza Horizon atm.

I'm definitely a FPS game player.
Started on third person games like Metal Gear Solid and then progressed to Fallout, much prefer that format.
Never been interested in games like GTA or driving games in general.
I suppise it's my military experience that draws me towards FPS.
Mate of mine is a true completionist, He played Fallout 4 for 5 months using FOMM and made a totally customised world with a sprawling township base before even starting more than the most basic missions.
I would have lost interest long before that [emoji57].
I'm not the most patient person tbh. [emoji16]

Forza Horizon is gooooooodddddd. I actually love FH4 as it's based on England and Scotland. Even the roadsigns are correct.
I try to play GTA most days but recently there has been nothing good on double. This week is ok though as the Ms Baker freeroam jobs are double, as are the Casino missions. Also diamonds are back to steal from the casino vault.

I will speak to my nephew as we both have anxiety issues around talking to people.
Yes, I think Vice City had the best soundtrack but that's cos I grew up with those tunes being an 80s baby, lol.

I'm sort of the same. I hardly use my phone for communication so would be uncomfortable using a mic to talk to people 😂. You can create those parties from the psn menu and message through there.

In Gta now I do the VIP missions and the terrobyte missions to replace the repetitive sell vehicle cargo and buy warehouse stock.

Depends where you drive normally.  The bottom may get less muddy and there's less brake dust for the wheels, but the dust on top is worse!  I rarely drive at weekends, the windscreen is always thick with dust, grit & pollen on a Monday morning!!  Not to mention bird dirt mostly occurs when parked as well...oh, and spider webs in every nook and cranny!  There is one positive though, you'll spend less on petrol!

I was on Xbox 360 from Dec 2007 to Dec 2010 (RROD'd).  Then bought an Xbox One in Dec 2014...what did I do in the intermediate 4 years?  I have no idea! 😮

Previously had a PSOne and PS2 Slimline, and the original Gameboy, Gameboy Color and the Gameboy Advance SP.

What if I told you, you can edit posts!

I used to like driving games when you could just mash the throttle and bounce off every wall...  I always got the new Need for Speed every year!  Lost interest when they became realistic tbh, the only semi-realistic one I liked was Gran Turismo 4.  I also hate football so FIFA probably isn't for me, although I've never tried it!  I liked previous GTA's but never got into GTA V.  Still looking for to the next GTA though...

I have an XB1 (my first foray into XBox).
Still got my PSOne, PS2 and PS3 and they all still work correctly.

I like driving games. The Crew 2 started out where you could use the barriers on corners and not lose speed but they soon took that away.
Gran Turismo Sport is very realistic but you do get idiots ramming you off the road so they can gain position, even though a penalty system and driver rating system is in place (as per FIA rules).

You'll probably be waiting a while for another GTA. GTA Online is still earning big bucks for Rockstar and Take 2 games.

I always go into a party when I'm playing, even if I'm the only one in it so that I can't hear others such as 6 year old kids playing an adult rated game (squeakers we call them).
Yes, GTA is very repetitive but when a CEO mission only pays $20k, it doesn't seem worth it.

@Stoney871 stickers arrived. Really love them and the envelope. Only problem I'll say is as its a black sticker I don't know where to place it on the car. Going to clean the car today so can see if I can put them on 😊
